Value Added News is an open source non-profit initiative funded jointly by the MacArthur Foundation and the Knight Foundation.

This project was the first UK winner of a Knight News Challenge award in 2008.

The Media Standards Trust is an independent, UK-based registered charity (charity number 1113680). The WSRI is the first multidisciplinary research body to examine the World Wide Web and offer the practical solutions needed to help guide its future use and design. WSRI is based at MIT and Southampton University.
